IB Schools in El Paso County

International baccalaureate programs use a global approach to learning that is inquiry based, and most of them are actually public schools. To a great extent, IB students rely on their own research and critical thinking to make their analyses. Though many schools offer IB classes, there are strict requirements for earning an IB Diploma as opposed to a standard diploma. A complete IB program encourages teachers to act as facilitators, while the learning itself is hands-on and student-based. Community service plays a significant role, as well for the purpose it to create global citizens who can work together and build a better world. There are many IB schools in El Paso County; Discovery Canyon Campus is one of, only, 11 schools, in the U.S., offering IB programs for elementary through high school (International Baccalaureate Organization, 2013). There are numerous other schools in El Paso County that offer IB programs, as well.
